Shop Visit Management

At Fierbois Engine Services, engine shop visit management is the heart of what we do for aviation owners, lessors, and operators across the UK and Ireland. Whether you're an airline seeking independent oversight or a leasing company navigating technical complexities, our expert team ensures your aero engines receive optimal care, strict regulatory compliance, and the most effective shop visit technical management.

We go beyond basic coordination, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience and specialised knowledge across V2500-A5, CFM56 (all variants), PW4000, Trent 700 and 800, and GE90 series engines. Our goal is to deliver a thorough review and intelligent oversight at every stage, always putting your priorities, service life, safety, and cost savings, at the forefront.

MRO Facility Coordination

We take full responsibility for the entire shop visit journey, from selecting a reliable MRO partner to customizing every detail of the engine workscope. If you already have a preferred facility, we work closely with them; if you need impartial recommendations, we draw from our extensive network. Fierbois Engine Services ensures your needs and objectives are reflected in each decision, regardless of whether the engine is serviced in the UK, Ireland, or Europe.

Workscope Plan

Our engine shop visit management process begins by aligning the repair or overhaul strategy with your operational goals. We assess each engine not just for evident defects, but with a focus on building the engine to meet lifecycle expectations and service limits. The workscope is specifically designed to maximise cost efficiency while preserving or enhancing engine value and performance.

Workscope Check-In

Our on-site representatives maintain regular check-ins with the MRO facility throughout the shop visit, monitoring all repairs and ensuring that any adjustments, be it part exposure or component substitution, are communicated promptly. This proactive oversight cuts the risk of unexpected delays and maintains transparency.

Reviews and Timescales

We conduct client reviews at key stages and provide clear, honest updates. The shop visit process can stretch over several months, and our oversight keeps everything progressing efficiently from induction through until test and dispatch.

Release to service

Following engine shop work, before the engine is returned to our clients, we perform a due diligence final performance assessment on the engine test cell results. Checks are carried out key documentation and the accuracy of certification including EASA Form 1 or FAA 8130 release certificates, work records, and that preservation is suitable.

Life-Limited Parts Management

Proper tracking and replacement of LLPs are essential for airworthiness compliance and a key focus for Fierbois Engine Services. As part of our shop visit technical management, we carry out full, back-to-birth record reviews of all life-limited parts (LLPs) removed from or installed in your engine, verifying all airworthiness directives and mandatory inspection criteria are met. Each LLP's service history, and operational life, is scrutinised so that only parts with approved traceability and adequate life remaining are reused or installed.

Our team handles all documentation requirements, maintaining full traceability in coordination with regulatory bodies such as the FAA and EASA. This rigorous approach to LLP management protects your assets and maximises safety and engine value for lease return or continued use.
